How we add a date or names to a stone in the cemetery.
Measure and apply stencil.
When adding a date to a stone first we make sure the style and size of the font matches the one on the stone. Even if we didn’t produce the stone we will make sure that the font matches. Then we apply the rubber stencil and remove the letters and dates to be blasted.
Sandblasting and paint.
Then we take our portable sandblaster and carefully blast the letters and dates to the same depth as the rest of the stone. Once the blasting is done, with the rubber stencil still on, we paint the letters and dates to match the stone.
Clean up.
Once the paint is dry, we remove the stencil and clean off any glue and pencil lines. Besides some newer looking paint you now have a date or name that looks like it was there when the stone was first produced!
